Catherine Carr knits and crochets glass vessels from her studio in the Scottish Highlands. After many years working as nurse practitioner she was intrigued if there was a way to preserve old crochet patterns that her grandmother collected in a more durable material, such as glass. It took about three years of experimentation and pushing the technical boundaries of glass to recreate pineapple patterns in this material. She is currently inspired by the patterns of Shetland Lacework Shawls and is exploring how to reinterpret them in glass.
